Pulpit Minister – Job Announcement
Glenpool Church of Christ
The elders of the Glenpool Church of Christ are actively seeking to hire our next Pulpit Minister. After nearly ten years of service, our previous minister left Glenpool on good terms to persue a preaching position at a different congregation. We are determined to find the right man who will be a complement to the talents of our congregation and who has a desire to join us in the ministry and good works of this body of believers.
Our congregation is located in Glenpool, Oklahoma. Glenpool is a thriving suburb of Tulsa and one of the fastest growing communities in the state. The public schools are rapidly expanding as many new families pour into town, and brand new subdivisions, filled with starter homes, are cropping up in every direction. It seems like every week there is a groundbreaking in Glenpool for new streets, new businesses, new homes, or new schools. Much more information about Glenpool is available at the Glenpool Chamber of Commerce website: glenpoolchamber.org.
The Glenpool Church of Christ is an active congregation of God’s people meeting for worship services and classes on Sunday mornings, Sunday evenings, and Wednesday evenings. A monthly ladies’ Bible class is also conducted. Our physical address is: 12932 S Elwood Avenue, Glenpool, OK 74033. The church desires to grow both spiritually as well as numerically as a congregation. To this end, we strive to develop disciples through a process of belonging, learning, and serving; and the Lord has blessed His people in Glenpool in many ways:
- We have beautiful modern facilities, and our worship attendance is regularly over 180. In addition to a full-time Pulpit Minister vacancy, we have five elders, ten deacons, a part-time Youth Minister and part-time Office Assistant. Our giving has consistently exceeded our budget for several years.
- There is a strong sense of belonging in our congregation, and we strive for this in every gathering of the Church. We have a diverse membership of different ages, talents, cultural backgrounds, and from many different communities surrounding Glenpool. We are blessed every week with visitors during our worship services. We have many organized fellowship opportunities for our members.
- This congregation remains rooted in the Faith and promotes learning and spiritual growth at every opportunity. We have remarkable teachers for all age groups, and our children’s Bible classes are filled nearly to capacity every Sunday. We also have active ministries for our teens, young families, and the beloved senior members of the congregation. We strive to encourage one another in the Faith and to edify each other in Scriptural Truth.
- This is also a group of believers committed to serving the needs of others. The congregation generously supports outreach programs in the community as-well-as mission programs in other parts of the world. The Glenpool Church has routinely contributed toward ministries involving orphans and other needy children, college age students, nursing home residents, incarcerated prisoners, as-well-as benevolence and disaster relief (as needs arise).
The Glenpool Church of Christ is searching for a Full-Time Pulpit Minister. We seek a man who is an example in personal work and evangelism to help us grow. The responsibilities of this position will include, but are not limited to: preaching, teaching, visitation, in-home hospitality, community and church functions, and counseling. Please see the Job Description for a more complete list of job responsibilities. The compensation package is negotiable depending on education and experience.
We are looking for a mature family man with excellent preaching and teaching skills and a passion for ministry and the word to join us in the ministries of the Glenpool Church of Christ. The candidate must have a maturing relationship in Christ. He must be a graduate of a Christian college or preacher school (although extensive experience may be a substitute). He must be able to preach and teach, clearly and logically, rightly handling the word of God. He must be a person that can work productively with minimal supervision, while having a passion for and the ability to follow through with all goals set before him. He must have the ability to communicate well, while keeping families of the church informed and involved. He must be able to assist in organizing and leading special events and outreach projects of the congregation. He must be a strong believer in personal evangelism and one who is always eager to seek and save the lost. Additional qualifications are listed in the Job Description.
If you believe you might be such a minister, please send a resume and letter of interest (including education, references, and contact information) to: firstname.lastname@example.org. A link to one of your recent sermons would also be very valuable to us. If more information is needed, please call Todd Khoury at: (539) 204-8227, or email him at email@example.com.
